Description
A hydroquinone-free lightening cream containing multiple ingredients that work synergistically to block melanin formation and lighten pigmentation, age spots and melasma. These ingredients work by inhibiting the production of melanin – which is a safer process than that of hydroquinone which kills melanin-producing cells.
Active Ingredients
- Alpha Arbutin
- Trenaxemic acid
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
Arbutin works by inhibiting the body’s production of tyrosinase, an enzyme that produces the melanin that causes suntan and skin pigmentation. Tranexamic acid inhibits the plasminogen/plasmin pathway thereby, interfering with melanocytes-keratinocytes interactions. It has been shown to reduce ultraviolet radiation–induced pigmentation response. Niacinamide inhibits melanosome (melanin package) transfer from melanocytes. At the same time, it increases ceramide and fatty acid levels in the skin and counteracts the drying effects of the other skin lightening chemicals.
