Description
MD Derma Acne Gel is specially formulated for treating oil, pimples, nodules, blackheads, and whiteheads and lightens the bothersome dark spots left after pimples heal. It can be used by all skin types including those with sensitive or dry skin.
Active ingredients
- Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)
- N-acetyl glucosamine
Niacinamide helps to reduce sebum production, minimize pore size and reduce acne. It is also inhibits melanosome transfer from melanocytes to keratinocytes. Topical application of niacinamide increased ceramide and free fatty acid levels in the stratum corneum, and decreased transepidermal water loss in dry skin.
N-acetyl glucosamine inhibits tyrosinase glycosylation, a step necessary in the production of melanin. N-acetyl glucosamine is a precursor to hyaluronic acid that keeps the skin well hydrated by binding up to 1000 times its weight of water. Hyaluronic acid, famous as a hydrating agent, exists mainly in the skin and articulation. In fact, hyaluronic acid is a combination of N-acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid one after another. Due to its big molecular size, hyaluronic acid is difficult to be absorbed into the body. However, as the size of N-acetylglucosamine, a precursor of hyaluronic acid, is only 1/1000 of hyaluronic acid, it can be absorbed in the body easily and can produce efficient hyaluronic acid there.
Niacinamide clears acne. It works together with N-acetyl glucosamine to lighten the dark spots left after pimples heal and hydrate the skin without clogging up pores. In another double-blind, vehicle-controlled, full-face clinical study, a significant reduction in facial hyperpigmented spots was seen in patients with facial hyperpigmentation using the N-acetyl glucosamine 2% + niacinamide 4% formulation when compared with the vehicle regimen

Directions
- Apply thinly to whole face once or twice daily.
- Cleanse the skin thoroughly before applying medication.
Precautions
- For external use only.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
- Do not use on broken skin.
- Stop use and consult a doctor if redness, dryness or irritation occurs.
- Keep out of reach of children.
